I went to Thompson’s a year ago to buy an Audi, this car was brand new and had never given me any trouble until recently, it started having a noise while driving above 65 Km/h. I decided to take it to the same dealer since I had the warranty. I went there, and I couldn’t find anybody, not a single person in the area, the door was closed even though the sign read open. I waited a few minutes, but no one came, so I left. Around a week later, I was able to get some time off to stop by the dealer again, this time there was someone at the front desk. They took my car in and informed me of the problem, gave me a total of $500 for repairs, and told me to go back in 4 days. So I did, I got there on the 4th day, and the car was not ready, they said that it would take another 4 days since the parts they needed had not been delivered. This situation was absurd, to say the least.
I went there on the 8th day, and this time I was received by a different person named Nick, my car was not ready either, I would have to wait another 7 days. Though I was not going to play that game anymore, I requested a manager immediately, then Nick tells me that he’s not available, and I will have to wait until he decides to show up at work, upon asking him when that would be, I realized just how trapped I was in their scheme. The manager was not there, but apparently would be back in, you guessed it right, 7 days. So whether I liked it or not, I was going to spend the next 7 days waiting. This was more than enough reason for me to send a formal complaint to the executives about the dirty business going on in this place; still, I had no car, and they had already taken my money, I’d say that the worst part of the wait was the fact that they refused to give me a loaner because, and I quote ”they are all taken for next month”. Yes, they were going to be used in a month from then, but still, they could not give me one.
I went back for the 3rd time, and the car was ready, but I was not going to let them out of the noose just like that. I requested a manager again, he was there; I explained how I was not happy with the whole situation, and he says that he’ll check on my options. An hour later he comes back saying that there was a mistake in my bill, that the pieces used to fix the car were more expensive than what the bill showed, and I would have to pay an extra $1000 if I wanted my car back.
I don’t even have words for them. I lost money and time that I’m not getting back in any way, not even as an apology. Watch out for these people.
