I contacted the TravelCenters of America’s Road service while I was in Antioch. They sent a mechanic whose I name I will not share for obvious reasons. He used a starter on the battery but it didn’t work out. The day after that a different mechanic came and tried to fix the same problem, but guess what, he couldn’t get it fixed as well. My truck just didn’t start. After a couple of hours I called TravelCenters of America and asked the manager about this issue, he said that if his mechanics were not able to fix this problem, then no mechanic in the world can fix it. I asked him whether he could tow my truck to the TA and he just said no. He didn’t want to help me at all; he just wanted to finish off the call as fast as he can. He did not care about me and wanted me to get rid of this problem all by myself. I got the truck towed, I took it to my own mechanic and he figured out the problem shortly after seeing truck’s engine. He told me that he would start working on it very soon. The spacer wasn’t applied properly on my truck’s starter and it caused the battery’s wires to tangle and mess up. 3 days later I went to the TA and there I spoke to another manager. I asked him where the missing part of my truck and he was just angry and scared. He said that he was not able to find it and if I find one, he will be happy to pay for it.

Hearing his offer I went to the store, bought the part and returned with the receipt. However, seeing the receipt he said that he couldn’t pay the bill. The bill of my truck was of more than $1,200!!! I had to throw away that amount of money because this shitty company’s mechanic thought that the truck didn’t need such a vital part and fucking threw it away. They tried to lie to me and told me that the truck would have run fine but being a truck driver for 20 fucking years, I caught their lie. For a company which claims to provide the best stopping centres, TravelCenters of America is actually the worst one I have ever seen.

I didn’t expect a company like TravelCenters to flat out lie to their customer and try to run away from their problems. They could have simply fixed my truck by installing the starter but they didn’t want to do that because it wasn’t beneficial for them. I wouldn’t recommend any truck owner/driver to ever get in touch with TA; they are pathetic people with a pathetic business model. I haven’t experienced such disastrously bad stopping stations in my whole 20 years of trucking. I hope that these guys improve themselves as fast as possible, but until they do just stay away from them.
