But alas, when I went to truworths to make a purchase on the card, I was told that I could not make a purchase at truworths as it was an identity gift card and could only be used at an identity store. Now unless I cannot read or have been transported out of south africa without my knowledge, I was within my rights to be able to make my purchase. I believe that this is a breach of contract and false advertising. I also wonder at the expiry date of 1 year from date of purchase? Is this still allowed? Should I rather keep it in the fridge in case it goes off? I am very offended and truly upset by this issue. I would like to have a response from truworths please.

A few days ago I got a call from a lady saying she is from Truworths. She then proceeded to ask me personal questions such as ID number, Street address or date of birth. We are constantly warned about SCAMS so I refused to answer her! As much as she demanded to ensure she was talking to the correct person – how do I know I am even talking to someone from Truworths!! She then advised that if I was uncomfortable giving out my info she would never the less continue the discussion and advised me my account was in arrears. I advised I would go to the shop at month end and make payment when I do my instalment as I could speak to the cashier and ask for a printout of my statement. She obviously disregarded what I was saying because she wanted banking details to organise a debit order – what part of I will go in at month end did she not understand?? I told her I would make payment at month end and am not giving banking details. Subsequently I have received numerous messages advising me that my account is going to be handed over!! Why?? I told you I was going to make payment at month end when I pay my instalment so what’s with the threats?? Anyway, I am aware from my previous statement that it looks like I only have 2 more instalments to pay – I am done with Truworths – they have no customer service and no listening skills! Although I bought my R1600 Ginger Mary jacket in February, I only now had the chance to wear it for the first time as we have a massive, rainy cold-front in Pretoria. I am not well off. I do not have the funds to buy at Truworths. I used 3 different gift vouchers to pay for this amazing jacket I wished to possess. I waited 13 months to find the perfect garment to spend my vouchers on and I finally found it, on sale, withing my voucher budget. 2 birthday gifts and a Christmas gift all put together, I found the jacket. As an a loyal truworths customer, I was appauled by the service and treatment that I received at Truworths megacity, on the 29 December 2017. I entered the store @ 16H53 before the store doors were drawn closed. It is my assumption, that prior to the closure of the store doors, the store is still open to patrons. To my dismay and horror, when I tried to fit my selection of clothing, I was told that the fitting rooms were closed. The staff members indicated that the solution available was to purchase my selection of clothing with an option of returning/ exchanging if I am not satisfied with the fit of the clothing at home. I fail to understand why I should waste my fuel and drive back to the store for an exchange or return whilst fitting rooms were available at my disposal? Since when did Truworths institute the closure of fitting rooms whilst customers are still in the store?

At approximately 14h00 on 29/01/2020 my wife was returning some items. Yvonne at the cahier was very friendly and helpfull but the supervisor or manager that needed to do something on the system was cery unfriendly. My wife wanted to exchange items and purchase again but was refused by the supervisor. It became apparent that the supervisor was extremely hostile towards my wife and treated her like a criminal. My wife called me to come to the store to help. I noticed immediately that this was going nowhere and that the comments made by the supervisor was racial motivated. As soon as I spoke to them asking what the issue was the security had eyes on me. I know this as I am a security specialist for corporate industries. They told the recipient that they dont do refunds, gift must be taken back to store where purchased. When I complained they were willing to do the refund then, but only back on my credit card. Bought Chanel Blue Perfume 100ml from Truworths Century City for R2400. Honestly speaking was very puzzled due to the fact that the perfume either is off or a imitation. Called the Truworths Customer Care Center Friday the 26 April 2019. Then was advice by the agent that before a log a complain I first need to consult the branch, then take it from there. Drove to Canal Walk Saturday morning was assisted by Thandeka the cashier then she called Ntsiki the Supervisor. Then was promised that the matter would be investigated then she promised that by Monday the 29 I will personally receive a call for feedback. Tuesday I called the Customer Call Center for feedback. Was assisted by a Customer Care Agent Nandipha. She asked for my number then she promised that the store manager will give me a call as soon as she returns to the store. Few minutes later recieved a call from Emy the Floor Manager telling me that the investigation has been done and unfortunately they are not going to refund me or exchange the perfume, I will need to come to the branch to pick up the faulty perfume. HONESTLY SPEAKING I AM TOTALLY UNHAPPY AND DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THE OUTCOME OF THE WHOLE MATTER. Bought the above foundation at Truworths, The Glen Shopping on the 30th June 2018 for a relative. Unfortunately this was not the brand my mom wanted returned it on the 4th July 2018 unused in box. They will not refund me on it saying that I pumped it, which is untrue. Gave me a query acknowledgment Query no. [protected]. The query acknowledgment is basically telling me in not so many words that they will not be refunding it. I have been a customer of Truworths for 20+ years and I”m not one to return purchases made unless I have to. The fact that Truworths in 20 years has never even given me a voucher says a lot about the chain. Now they also refuse to credit purchase that are on your policy as refundable (cosmetics refundable) yet they don”t stick to whats on the policy. The foundation was for 700.00 hope that helps with your end of month figures. I will never buy from another Truworths chain ever. I will finish paying my account and close the account. Broken watch – fossil I was given a fossil watch purchased from truworths in july 2015. It was leather, after a few weeks the leather turned black. I returned the watch and it was sent away to be replaced by a metal strap instead. This took about 2 months. And I had to pay r500 to replace the strap. Once I got it back, and after 1 day the watch fell off my arm, the screw came loose. I took it back. They sent it away, again, supposedly to cape town, but it was sent to another city in error. So this delayed by another month. I got it back this week. Infront of the manager, I shook the watch juggled it around to ensure that the strap was on tight enough. All seemed well. Not even 3 hours later, I was driving home, changing gears and the watch popped off my arm. The screw came loose again. This watch was given to me in july 2015. It is now april 2016 and I have not been able to wear it. COMPLAINT: Truworths (Paarl Mall) On Sunday-2 June 2019 I bought a Sleeveless puffer jacket (for delivery request) for my wife, who`s birthday is on 12 June 2019. The store assured me that my item will arrive well before my wife`s birthday and so it did as I was informed on 6 June 2019 that my item is ready for collection. On 7 June 2019 I went to collect my package at the store, and when the cashier opened the package it was not what I ordered (in the package was what appeared to be a woman`s vest). The cashier was as shocked as I was, as this was not what I ordered. In light of the above my problem is as follows: I told the cashier that I want to cancel this order (and that the store must credit my acc with this amount) as the puffer jacket will not reach me in time for my wife`s birthday on the 12th. The Manager on duty however informed the cashier that I (the client) must wait until my order is delivered again in order to credit my account. This is unacceptable, as the Manager could have accommodated me in some other way as to credit my account with the same amount or even with a gift voucher. I bought this item on a 6 month plan, and this item will influence my monthly instalment (something I don”t even have). Furthermore, since 7 June 2019, I did not receive any feedback from the store Manager/s with regard to my refund or even an apology in this regard. My wife`s birthday was yesterday, and I could not give her desired gift. Customer service .. no not the kind you think of, not the actual service we received from your very capable staff in Canal walk last night, but the actual support team to your staff. I came into your store last night to make a purchase. I had my wallet stolen in July and I have not activated my new card yet so I brought my ID and knew the process. To my shock and horror your CS Agent was so rude to your staff member ( Christine ) trying to assist me that it brought her near to tears. The agent told her not to shout at her after repeating an instruction for clarity. She was not shouting.. not even close. So the agent refused to help her even after apologising to her for something she didn”t even do. She ended up hanging up the call and the supervisor Kauthar then came to step in as she could see there was a situation arising and by that time we had been in the store a while. Kauthar then called CS for us, had to check my ID under the UV light 4 times and scan it countless times and that even after I had confirmed all my details with the agent. So the agent puts her on hold and she responds to my disbelief of this process by empathising and apologising to me for it taking so long. ( Which is part of good service and also defusing a tense situation ) He must have listened in on her call and what do you know… he goes off on her, asking her what she was talking to me about !!! What the heck !!! SO the sale eventually goes through and he ends the call by telling her that she should not phone from this line again. I have to tell you.. never before have I seen this kind of behaviour and disrespect from Customer Service agents. Is this the kind of support that you as a company lend to your staff ???? If it was not for the wonderful service of your Canal walk team I would have settled my account and closed it. If it was 1 agent we could use the excuse of rotten apple, but both of your agents last night were very, very unprofessional and I think they need to be retrained and also apologise to those to store staff. They obviously have no regard for service because if they did they would have left all their issues aside and focus on the customer that is obviously in store experiencing an issue. It is also not ok that they abuse your staff and leave the customer hanging, because you probably don”t feel like working on a Friday night. I want to have urgent feedback about this complaint as this is a issue I will not let go and I will go to every complaint platform if this is not resolved. Dear sir On the 16 february 2014 I purchased the blush lace dress with (Embroidery) on the upper part cash amounting to (R625.00) at truworths mafikeng. After washing the dress I experience some torn on the dress and on the 06/march/2014 I took the dress back to truworths mmabatho. I called the call center and they are very vague in their response as to the date it will be delivered. Dear Sir/Madam I bought a white top at Truworths Baywest Mall and I swiped using my debit card to purchase it. When I get home I realised that its neckline is quite bigger than my normal size 38 neckline so i decided to return it on Saturday morning at 9am, which is their opening time. I asked her when am I going to receive my money because I gave them back the top. She said it can take up to 48hrs. I went back to the lady who helped me in the morning and asked her since when is the debit card purchase has that policy. She said she only knows that when the sale is made via debit card a customer is paid in cash. She knows nothing about this policy followed by her collegue. My question to you is arent you doing the same training to all your cashiers? I also wanted to buy a black shirt with the refund as I am invited to attend rhe interviews on Monday the 15 October. Dear Truworths For the last few months I have been receiving phone calls asking me to pay my account before the next installment is due. I pay my account every month at your stores, and when I make the payment I ask the person assisting me what the installment is so I can pay the correct amount. Yesterday I received a call asking me to pay my account. (19 July 2018) I asked why I was being asked to pay my account before the instalment was due and I was then told my account was in arrears of R17?! I asked why I was not told this when I paid my last installment as I would then have paid the extra R17! ( FYI I have an outstanding balance of R118 owing.) I was then asked a series of personal questions relating to my personal bank accounts and ID numbers and then asked if the amount could be deducted from my bank account. This after I had said that I would settle the amount month end when my next installment is due. I did not appreciate being harassed about an error you made, and to be asked such personal information on the phone. Clearly your staff instore and your people calling me are not on the same page with regards to accounts. Firstly I didnt apply for a truworths account i just got one in the mail. My family started using.g it about 3 or 4 months ago and I am disgusted by the service we got so far. Not only am I being harassed but I have to deal with rude employees over the phone .I am appalled at truworths staff professionalism especially the ones who call. I am a student and they made my installments so high and gave me the 6month payment plan without even asking if I can afford it or not and then a rude [censored] still has the audacity to call me and tell me that she will phone me 10x a day to pay and that my payments are to little and I made a payment based on what I could afford and what I have and she keeps calling its harassment. I tried explaining that I’m on study leave and asked for a better payment plan but no absolutely no professionalism or ethics. Good day I like to complain about the lack of professionalism & service I receive from Truworths Springs Mall. On the 1st of December 2018 I brought a ring 13 day I then realised that the ring is damaged the I return it to the Store. I was the informed the they will send it to quality department they told me the after 2weeks I will receive my ring. Three weeks later I give them a call & I was informed that is was sent to wrong address after I made a call. Afther i fit it my husband stand by the entrance of the fitting room and i told him to go take a bigger size for me and the yung lady look at me and told me maybe you must go to a gym for one moment i could not believe what she just told me . I went back to the fitting room very ashamed and yes i am overweight and on that moment i think what to tell her before i gone pay this is (heartbreaking )shame on you to treat me like this this is really not right from you. Good day I went to Truworths golden walk last week Wednesday and Thursday at 17:50 and the store was already closed but the time on the door says 6:00 o”clock, like how is that possible ?.can you please go back and change your time on the door .I believe they should be closing at 6 :00 o”clock on the dot not one minute before as it says 6:00 on the door.i explained this to the security guy at the door and I was told thats the time they close the door every day

Good day I wish to express my fury I experienced at Truworths Canal Walk today. I visited your store and while doing so my son sustained an injury to his foot after one your sharp magnetic tags penetrated my sons foot through his shoe. I do not know what you call these tags but it is usually attached to items to prevent people from stealing it then it is removed at cash point. This was a traumatizing experience to my son. I immediately requested the store manager, while waiting on the manager not one of your staff members came to my assistance and left me have to remove the sharp “nail” from my son”s foot. When your manager came to assistance he was apologetic and offered us dettol and a plaster. Your store manager asked if he could take my details so that we could “resolve” things later but never ended up taking any of my details and this infuriated me even more. She tried to return or exchange them but they refused said there supplier will check them but know she received an email from them stating she must come and collect the shoes as there is no problem with them .What I fail to understand is that if you are not happy about the product you bought at the shop as a client what must one do . Good day My name is Nadia Sulliman . I was buying a Daniel Klein watch at truworths on 24 Dec 2019. The two ladies at the counter were first of all slow to assist us and they weren”t busy with clients so they told us to wait abit they will assist us now and secondly they heared us saying we r only taking the Daniel Klein Watch because there was a sign showing if you buy the watch you get the free gift which was a Daniel Klein bracelet type item. We asked her if its for all the Daniel watchs and she replied yes. So we purchased it. She said nothing about the free gift and packed the item. So we thought she had put it in the same box as the watch already. Near the exit i decided to have a look and there was nothing. So we went back and ask her about the gift as she said its for any Daniel Klein watch and the ladies reply was. Its out of stock. And the other assistant said oohh let me take the sign out. I mean really she knew it was out of stock before we purchased it and she knew we took the item because it came with a gift… So then why sell it in the first place and not informed us about it? And the attitude was so rude like they wanted to brush us off. So i am very upset regarding this matter and i will tell people about this occasion that took place.

I got an e-mail from Tauriq and sent this person another e-mail this morning and it was totally ignored again. Your cashier at Truworths Baywest was also so rude and dismissive and when I ask her about my goods ordered she started speaking to another staff member in Afrikaans but she refused to speak to me in Afrikaans and said to me it is okay, okay what??? My probroblem is when I phoned regarding phurchased that was done on my name, I was told to bring Affidavit from Polistation with my ID book. Good day Sir or Madam We noticed that every month end, there is only one teller at the till and there is three tills. This problem has been coming on for +- 2 years. We have to stand in the queue for 40 min to a hour. There is staff on the floor, don”t know if they not trained to work on the till, but honestly I was frustrated. I confronted one of the staff and asked Is your service always this bad in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape and was told No sir one is on lunch and one at the till. The queue was very very long. The lady that I confronted then proceed to the back of the counter and worked on the till. The top floor where the men”s clothing is, also have a counter, but there is no staff at those tills, and We were told to proceed to the bottom, as there is only one queue. That is one problem, the next problem is your staff don”t know What is going on in the store or are just plain lazy to look. My wife wanted to buy a tekkie, and We were told by the lady, that the one she is fitting on is the only one available. We said it”s fine then We won”t take it. I decided to ask another lady, seeing that your staff seems very unhelpful and gives the client a very unhappy face, if she can phone the branch in Port Elizabeth. We also understand that the hours they work is long, but you never show that to a client. She did that for us and the system showed there are three pairs in the Uitenhage store. She then proceeded to the back and got us a new pair . Honestly, I”m thinking of closing my account, because I keep encountering this problem at Truworths, Uitenhage. Many people behind me in the queue was also complaining bitterly. Just think if every person must feel this way and close their account, Truworths, Uitenhage will close down. Your feedback on this matter will be much appreciated.

Good day To whom it nay concern I want lodge formal complain about the securtiy services check in menlyn mall truworths. Was not treat fairly as customer when enter the shop was pushing trolley enter the shop from other shops then my trolley beep the lady called lindiwe security she said I may proceed. After my shopping when out to exit door again trolley beep I went out she shout at me hey you are you! Are deaf! Cant you hear alarm ringing! She wanted to search me then ask why when enter the shop you said may proceed? I called the manager shes lady also she said she will take care of the matter all eyes when on me like I am thief I am so embarrased and dissapointed with the security services in the store she should respect deaf people they didnt ask to be like that. Only god knows about us not her.

Good day Trust you are well. I have bought a Daniel Hechter jean for my husband 3 weeks ago. He has worn it twice. And the Jean torn between his legs. I am not very happy about the situation. I am not prepared to pay R700 for such poor quality. Therefor I rather buy more expensive clothes for better quality. But this is definatley not good quality. Good day, 1. I called Truworths Groblersdal Mall today around 11:10 to 11:20. The lady whom I was just speaking to me just decided to hang up on me in the middle of my enquiry. 2. I had bought things on 24/11/2017 & had been to the store on two occasions to exchange with no luck as there were no sizes. On my second attempt, that is on 15 December 2017, when I couldn”t get the sizes I was offered a refund. Unfortunately the system at the store was reported to be slow as they wanted to refund me utilising the bank debit card that I used to purchase. I could not wait longer. Good day, A couple of years back I bought a jacket from your Centurion branch to wear during the Winter. Due to the amount of days I wore the jacket, I only recently took the jacket to be dry cleaned for the first time. This was probably the biggest mistake I made. This specific jacket has certain parts that can”t be dry cleaned. Please see the pictures below. Good day, Everyday more more than 10 times a day I get calls from your credit collecting department to a point where I now have blocked the number but I still get the voice messages. I am not a client, not have I ever been and nor will I ever be due to this experience!!! I have phoned the number I have asked for my number to be removed from the system I have asked to speak to complaints but my attempts have been futile. This causes an inconvenience to me, my phone is forever flat because of these calls and frankly I am now tired of this place calling me. Its been for 3 different people I have no relationship with. Good day, I got a pair of truworths heels as a gift, the shoes given to me by my sister who bought it at truworths (blue route branch) I could not return it as I don’t know when it was purchased and I don’t have a receipt either. The right shoe is different in size from the left shoe, the backings are also noticeably different from the other backing. I cannot wear the heels because of these reasons. It is still in the original packaging as it’s never been worn. I find it very upsetting to receive these kinds of rejects from truworths who also produce quality products. Good day, I had chatted to your sensai consultant, marlene, about 6 weeks ago and just wanted to know about the products. She was very forceful and made me purchase these products to the value of + r12 000. After using these products, my skin is terrible! I’ve developed hyper pigmentation and my skin looks burnt. Marlene had told me that these products are 100% safe and guarantee. My skin looks disgusting and I had to make an appointment with dr naidoo (Dermatologist) to assist with my skin. My appointment is on the 30th of july at 08h45. I am utterly disgusted with the lies that this particular consultant had spoken. I had given birth 4 months ago and am supposed to be securing a job at this moment but this quest is impossible due to the condition of my skin. I feel utterly humiliated and embarrassed and as a result consulted with an attorney regarding the best way. I want to return the products and request for a full refund. Should this not be possible, I am going to place my attorney on record and retrieve costs from truworths gateway for all my dermatologist treatments, compensation for the pain, humiliation and loss of income that I am undergoing. Good Day, I have been a big fan of Uzzi gear for years, I recently purchased a Formal Shoe 02/08/2017 for R550.00 and find it unacceptable for the Uzzi badges to be coming of already. I have 2 other pairs of Uzzi footwear which respectively are 4 5 years old, both still look new. Good day, I received a R100 voucher from truworths which expired on 7 January 2018. So on 7 December, I bought an item for the sole purpose of utilising the discount voucher. On 10 January, I went back to exchange the item for a different size. Imagine my shock when I was told that I had to pay full price for the item because the voucher had expired! Good day, Ive been sending email but no response and this is getting annoying! I was told to speak to Amplisol and they advised that they do not issue prescription letters, only paid up letters. Truworths account is prescribed and no longer reflecting on my credit report. Good Day, Just came back from the truworths store at Rosebank and I am very angry with the service I received. I asked the floor lady working at the shoe”s department to assist me by checking my size. she did that and told me that it”s out of stock so I went back to look for a different shoe and she purposely left me there to talk to her friend and she made sure to turn her back so that I dont call her. Another employee passed by and just gazzed at me. how dare your staff treat me like me like that? That”s very unproffesional, I work with customers as well and I dont conduct myself like that.

Good day, While on holiday in durban dated: 28 april 11, I decide to go to the mac store in gateway mall. When I arrived there, no one came to assist me. I eventually decided to ask one of the sales person who was assisting another customer who then said called someone. I then told the sales person that I needed certain makeup. Once I got to the till to pay, the lady was doing other stuff while helping me. After I signed the receipt, she didnt bother to help me further, which I needed to get something else. By then I was so irritated that I left the store because I could see that the lady was not interested to help me further. I have never had such bad service
