My experience with Updike Orthodontics was pathetic. I never thought care providers could subject my daughter to such conditions. My daughter’s teeth were positioned improperly. Her teeth did not fit together correctly, making it hard for her to keep them clean. This exposed her to early tooth decay and my family dentist suggested I should take her to an orthodontics service center. Being left with no other choice, I looked into the available orthodontics centers in Irvine online. Most of the centers I came across were expensive and closed on weekends. I could not manage to take my daughter to an orthodontics clinic during weekdays due to my busy schedule. However, as I run my search I came across Updike Orthodontics, which charged fair prices and was open on weekends. In addition to that, the clinic a mile away, and their physical address was familiar.
Before taking my daughter for the session, I called the customer care number posted on their online website. To my surprise, there was no one to answer my call. This seemed odd, but I decided to wait for their call. After two days, I received a call from the center, acknowledging they had received my call, but unfortunately, they were out of the office for a training seminar. This seemed fair, and so I explained my case, and they booked me an appointment on Saturday afternoon. I informed my daughter about the appointment, and she could wait to have her dental formula fixed. On Saturday afternoon, I drove my daughter to the center. To my surprise, they did have a parking lot, and I had to look for space. This was a strenuous exercise considering the structuring of Raleigh. I finally found a parking space, but I was already late for my appointment. I was worried whether my daughter would be served, but on arriving at the center, there was no one on the reception desk. i didn’t know what to do but wait in the waiting area hoping someone would come to my rescue, but it took more than an hour for the receptionist to show up.
The receptionist was a young lady who was dressed presentably but not professionally. She was friendly and apologetic about her absence when we walked in. I explained to her about my appointment, and she directed me to the orthopedic office. The office was poorly organized, and the equipment seemed a bit outdated. I could detect fear in my daughter based on how she behaved. However, I assured her everything would be alright. The caregiver offered his services in a rush, and I could tell he was not sure about what he was doing. During the session, he kept making irrelevant calls, which made my daughter feel uncomfortable. By the end of the process, there was very little impact on my daughter’s dental arrangement. I asked why there was no huge impact, and he explained it would be a continuous process and booked me an appointment the previous weekend. To be sincere, I am not taking my daughter to that center again. Everything was awful.
