We booked a vacation trip through Vacation Express to Freeport, Bahamas at VIVA Wyndham Fortuna Hotel. Worst trip we’ve ever been on. To start with … paid for transfers in advance, no one showed up at airport to pick us up. After 2 hours had to take taxi to hotel and they wanted money. Check-in took forever and lobby was crowded with unhappy travelers and no air conditioner. Employees swarming the lobby wanting to sell us timeshares to this hotel. Also hotel is closing in September. In our room, furniture old and broken, shower didn’t work, toilet over flowed, roaches in closet, BLOOD on mattress, no clean towels to be had, paid cleaning lady extra $1 each day, main eating area no air conditioning, dead flies in food, same meals everyday for 5 long , long days. Felt so stuck there. Vacation Express on-site rep said she couldn’t help us any. She said these problems have been going on for months. Staff really unhappy and rude. Vacation Express has been aware of these problems for months and are STILL BOOKING new reservations to this crumy hotel. Tried calling vacation express from hotel and you have to complain by email only. Found owner partner Tammy Dunn’s phone number and she wouldn’t answer or return my calls. VE says they have 30 days to respond. We had 5 terrible days stuck at Viva Wyndham Hotel in Freeport, Bahamas and now they’ve add more days to our misery. If anyone knows how to get this company to respond and issue a refund for our misery and misrepresentation of the resort, please, please, tell us. VFamily
