After my car was stolen, I did not have the heart or courage to pay for another car but life without a car would have been too hard and therefore I decided to go for a pre-owned car. I did not have much of an idea about pre-owned cars and so I decided to refer to the internet for gaining more knowledge about the topic. After researching for a week, I saw that most of the people online had suggested that it is okay to go for a pre-owned car as long as it is being from a reputed dealership. Therefore, I asked for suggestions from a few colleagues and all of them suggested me to go for a pre-owned BMW. The dealership’s name which was recommended was Valley BMW. I checked the official website and saw that there were some pretty good options available. I called the place up and asked about a model that seemed to be a perfect fit for me. I was told to come down to the place to check the car out myself. In was told to come on the upcoming Thursday and so I reached the place on the date and time that was told to me.
I met an employee and told him the name of the model I was interested in. He took some time to look it up and then asked me to follow him. He took me to the spot where the car was parked. He did not even bother telling me the features. He simply told me to check up the official website for all the details. The car looked fine from outside. The interior although was quite dusty. After a while, I told him that I was willing to buy the car. I was given what every salesperson gives a customer – Assurance. However, what I did not know at that time was that it was all fake. I paid for the car and took it home. The next day, when I drove the car for the first time, I noticed that some things were not working perfectly. The AC was not working properly at all. One of the speakers was missing. I was astonished because the features stated online did not mention any shortcomings as such. I decided to take the car back to Valley BMW that very moment. On reaching there, I met the manager and told him about the problem. The salesperson who had sold the car to me was there too. I was told that there was nothing that could be done as I was the one who had selected the car knowing everything. No matter how much I tried putting some sense into them, they were not willing to budge. In the end, I was the one who had to let go. I was shocked because I had never even thought of seeing such kind of unprofessional behaviour at a place backed by its mammoth reputation. I would never, ever ask anyone to even look at the place because It would be a shame to see another person getting robbed by the place.
