I stayed in this dump in 2005. Ron and Betty Patterson were the live-in co-managers when I stayed there. Ron Patterson used to like to wear his Disney World nameplate while working the desk (he also worked at Disney MGM Studios) thus conveying an association between the Viking Motel and The Disney Company that I later found out did not exist. Betty Patterson has some mental issues involving memory loss and a sharp temper. Point out her falsehood carefully; Ron will retaliate. I’ve been threatened by Ron with eviction (I lived there) for such things as pointing out where his wife had said something untrue, pointing out where his wife had not lived up to her word, even for my political leanings. The rooms themselves smell musty, and there is mold present. The pool was nasty. Appliances furnished were faulty. Altogether an ugly little place I’d recommend avoiding. .
