No care for customers. Terrible organization

Having heard of Vista, BMW dealer in Coconut Creek, I decided to purchase it for a guest pickup at my business event. My company needed luxury cars for guests and this was our first such car. Since I live far away from this area, I called up the showroom to know if one specific model of BMW is available or not. The specifications of the car had been discussed and a date was decided when I would come and purchase it.

The purchase was being made on the day of the event itself so the car would be delivered within a few hours. As the day arrived, I called the director once again on the phone number of the showroom office mentioned on the website. Nobody received the call but the deal had been decided so I went for the purchase. When I reached Vista, the staff was ready to leave and they were about to close the showroom. In a state of confusion, I enquired and got to know that due to some issues, not disclosed to the public, the showroom had to be closed. It would be closed for that particular day or longer than that as per the orders of their head office.

I was stunned because of this. There was absolutely no news about this on the website, customer portal or anywhere. The staff or the manager did not even bother to call or mail and inform their customers who have already made a deal. They should have taken the responsibility of cancelling any appointments or orders for the day. My entire time in reaching this place, which is far away from my home/office had been wasted. At that moment I realized that the event would start in a few hours and purchasing another car would take up a lot of time in discussing specifications, finishing legal formalities, etc. Moreover, I had to take permission from my firm and tell them the whole incident. The event was grand and as per our policies towards guests, it would be inappropriate to send any other regular car. I had no choice but to tell my boss about this.

It made my superior furious and he scolded me in front of all other co-workers and peers. However, later he realized that it was not my fault. Vista BMW is a great showroom only for its name but their ’emergencies’ can pop up anytime and it’s advisable to never visit it. I can say that the showrooms of cars of other brands are a much better and reliable choice. We had no option but to welcome our guests in some ordinary car. It is not possible to tell every person as to what happened with the car. Hence, we felt humiliated and embarrassed as it was a very reputed annual event which adds to the prestige of our firm. I request everyone to file a complaint against Vista if they are ever faced with such consequences.
