Dr. Soyfer’s unlicensed dental assistant wrote a Psychotherapy note in my medical record.
I have now added these complaints to the Virginia Board of Dentistry. Neither Dr. Soyfer nor his assistant is qualified to write Clinical Psychotherapy notes. His dental assistant, who is not even a certified Medical assistant, but is just some random person he hired off of Craig’s list who know nothing about professionalism.
In order to write a Clinical Psychotherapy note, you have to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional, (QMHP) a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Clinical Psychologist (Psych. D), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am appalled at Dr.
Soyfer’s wreck less disregard for my medical record, and the board will hold him accountable. Practicing Psychotherapy without a license is a felony.
