We drove downtown Minneapolis and parked in the lot on 1st Ave N. and Washington Ave. This lot’s sign says W.W. Parking. It’s an unattended lot where we put our $5 in an envelope, wrote our license plate on the envelope and slid it into the box. When we returned after dinner and a show, our car was missing. It had been towed by Wrecker Services Inc 200 E. Lyndale Ave. N. We contacted the number on the tow sign and a rude man told us he hadn’t found an envelope in the box with our car’s info on it so the car had been towed. We asked him to return to check the box because we know we put the money in there, he said he wouldn’t and hung up. Why would we have taken the risk of getting towed by not paying $5? We have called the number on the sign for WW Parking and no one has called us back. We’ll continue to call and plan to file a complaint with the city department that licenses commercial parking lots. The cost to us thus far was cab fare plus a fee of $248 to get our car back.
