After originally finding wix about five years ago, I began using the site to build brands an companies for my clients, using wix as the platform an subsequent host however after I got a complaint from a client that his entire site was a templet I began to investigate… I began with a review of wix toc, not noticing prior (understandably they change) but there were several clauses strategically drafted within the toc which essentially explained wix owns everything including the right to “use” your platform or for those not familiar in other words… Wix is saying if you build it and we like it we can and will and do take it (steal) your platform, wix vontrols your business and also steals sites, the look, the feel and most noticeably the content. I embarked on a mission which took place over a year… My boyfriend an I created a massive number of start-ups, all unique as its our business. We backed each business up and copied the contents which we deemed proprietary by means of another source and used as content on the wix sites, low and behold as we watched we began noticing that every good idea was popping up online, now this is even after domain name searches that took us in some cases days to generate. Totally unoque but only used in creating wix sites for example our endeavor jewelmi… A local jewel3 business commissioned us to build a site that delivered jewelry to customer blah blah… We searched an searched and no jewelmi.com. So we held ot on godaddy went to wix executed a marvelous site no bs after building it and not publishing we let it sit for (1) day.. We then did a search and sure enough jewelmi.com popped up.. Did it look exactly like our site? Yup. Did it offer same services? Yup. Was it a wix site? Of course… We were so devastated wix was just another fraud. We contacted the address lol it was in the virgin islands how convenient. So it triggered us to investigate further… We found five sites completely ripped off down to the wording of our content refurbished with a twist an offered as a base templet online. They literally sit an watch for ideas re recreate and pull the rug from under you. Here is another thing… The contradictions, spelling errors and inconsistencies in their policies are almost laughable. Privacy, copyright infringement and theft period. How the hell can you just claim you own someones hard word simply because you have access based on trust… Guess we can ask bernie madoff, allen stanford an every other munipulative souless individual. Keep hard copies with dates of your work, they claim ohh well we will say this and whats not enforceable doesnt apply but the rest does… No its [censor] theft!

Bad software and always lagging. Worse is after we proceed to terminate its service – they continue to charge our credit card, in which after that we had to proceed to ask for the refund. And then they still proceeded to charge us a SECOND time. I don’t recommend to use Wix, its not so great of the software, especially if you are going e-commerce, i can’t understand how anyone can live with their sluggish platform. For your information, they did refund us but I still lost money due to exchange rate or bank charges – its ridiculous! Bad experience. This should not happen as once termination is submitted no charging should ever take place again, even more so that they store our credit card info. It is lucky that I check my statement bills to identify this problem else we would never known this had occurred and wix would have simply pocketed our money without our knowledge.

Beware of wix selling & false advertising practices: When you subscribe to their yearly unlimited premium plan, their website says that you get 2 free premium apps which are site booster and form builder. I only used the site booster and I was just charged a total of $9.90 for 2 months of service ($4.95 monthly service charge). Nowhere in their advertisement says that there will be a monthly charge at all for the service and that is why it says you get it for free with your subscription. This is clearly, false advertisement! As of now I have cancelled my subscription for the site booster so I won’t get charge again. When I called customer service about this was told that you only get a credit for the first month of service. Again, nowhere that is mentioned. They issued me a credit for this charge. I wished that I haven’t paid in full up front as is required for the year for the yearly subscription for their service. As of now is “wasted” money since I can not get a refund for it and is paid until it expires for the yearly service. As of now I am looking for another company to design my website with and won’t be using wix anymore. I also haven’t finished designing my website completely yet.

Beware of WIX. They will offer “free websites” and in order to start a free website, you need to set up an account. The email you use will immediately starting getting tons of spam that the privacy policy is not real specific about or identified in consumer friendly language. You must also forewarned that your “free” website will be used for more behavioral targeted marketing by the people you use your website. Free is not free with this company. Read other reviews on Facebook. They will take over your business with aggressive marketing spam and really do not try to be transparent about the deluge of marketing or interference your business will need to deal with.

We have tried to cancel our account since 2017 and continue to have issues with this company. Company Collapsed. closed the debit card associated with the account on Dec 2nd 2019 never gave them any other payment information. Dec 26th, Jan 1st, 10th, and the 28th they kept charging that same canceled debit card which kept kicking back insufficient funds until Jan 28th with a yearly $156 charge to a debit card that does not exist. for over an hour they kept playing roundabout on their customer service line until hanging up on me without confirmation of what they said was a refund and cancellation of the entire account even though the website was trashed. their website system refuses to allow you without a million clicks to close and cancel an account and they get defensive over accusations of fraud. accuse you of swearing. and ultimately hang up with no resolve. they must be investigated because they should not be allowed to do business.

Four years ago my wife and I utilized Wix to build a basic website for her acting profile. Had premium “unlimted” plan. Could not do much with “unlimited plan. Paid quite a premium for it. Had to upgrade if I wanted “features”. Upgraded at a price. New plan still useless. www.snowwhitesamoyeds.com is fraudulently using photographs stolen from other Reputable AKC Breeder webpages. At least three of the photos have been identified by myself and two other breeders and the web page owner has been asked to remove them. He refuses. in a “chat” session earlier this week, before I revealed that I own the dog on one of his pages, he told me that the dog, a male, was the mother of the puppies he had for sale. I then informed him that my AKC Gold Grand Champion, pictured with Best In Show ribbons, was neither his dog, nor the dam on any puppies. During the chat session he refused to provide any information on the dam, her name or registration number or a pedigree of the puppies until I agreed to send him the $750 for one of the puppies. Obviously because the dog is not a girl, not his and he does not have any of the information I asked for on her. I would be happy to provide copies of the “chat” session – and the other breeders and individuals involved would be happy to cooperate in any way necessary to shut this site down. After requesting that he shut the site down, he told me he could not get to a computer, however, overnight he was able to raise the price of the puppies he is advertising. So, therefore he did have access to remove the stolen photographs. This website is perpetrating fraud and trying to induce people to send money for animals they do not have. I agree that WIX is a scam pyramid website builder. I initially thought that I had a good website, then I discovered that there is absolutely no support. I telephoned in the past and scheduled a return call for support–returned call never happened. I was not able to customize my billing or receive accurate accounting on the site as promised and could not receive instruction on how to solve. The builder of my website would only give me some telephone number that was useless. I renewed my site (like an idiot) with a premium plan–stated analytics and SEO were included. Unfortunately–they took my SEO away–as well as my analytics, thy even took away my dashboard from my site–who is controlling this? I am about to ditch my account here. VERY frustrating!!! And, I’ve paid for the pleasure of receiving this lovely gift from Wix, where they provide ZERO humans to troubleshoot their underperforming product. They are aware of the many, many, many known issues and problems that are systemic and apparently, never ending!!! AUGHHHH! Its the gift that keeps on giving. I’ve been working on my new site nonstop over the weekend. I thought the sluggish nature of the site would improve after I upgraded to premium, but no. It actually became slower. Not only is it slow, it just stops responding. Freezes. It changes formatting and omits items. And there’s no end to it. These issues compound at such a rapid rate it’s beyond comprehension as to why they are offering this product as a paid, self-serve, service at all. Feels like a bait and switch. When searching for help, all one can find is volumes of Wix help pages which are found via web searches, not on their site, where their advice to combat these problems of ‘Clearing the cache’ works for about 5 minutes then the cycle continues, is a joke. Moreover, they make it Very Difficult to find help, if you can call it that. Lots of suggestions that loop into more suggestions that do not resolve the issues. At some point down the line, I was offered a ticket to get help when they get back into the office; but wasn’t able to finish it due to my attempts to gather screenshots to send along (as suggested) where I had but another issue with the site. Had to reboot… It’s ridiculous. There is no competency in the product or the company if you can’t use the product as offered and can’t get resolution and/or to a competent human being at the company. If your company is aware of the systemic problems (which by simple means of a web search will show Wix is), then put roadblocks in place as a means to keep your customer base from reaching you or resolving these known issues, you are deliberately and knowingly defrauding people. This is negligent. Dodging responsibility by making it difficult for users to talk to/contact a company expert for a resolution to issues that originate with the corporation, are known and systemic to the corporation while accepting payments is really unconscionable. Shame on you. As I’m writing this, I’m thinking maybe this isn’t the best sign when I’m looking to project a stable business image through their product. This business model, Wix is actually performing (not purporting and advertising) isn’t demonstrating a viable or dependable product where my future earnings will be secure. I’m just starting out; so I can’t carry an entity that’s not up to par. Very disappointing. Totally unacceptable. I feel jacked. Essentially, I paid Wix to complicate and delay my business site, usurp all of my free time and raise my stress levels. I am NOT HAPPY. What kind of 1990’s compression BS is going on there in Wix-land???! Seriously? I’d be better off making flyers and handing them out. A resolution? I am not even talking about the noumers bugs I had to deal with. The automated costumer service is never willing to send a human response. All I ever get from them over ther course of dozen of emails is pre-prepared paragraphs with the sole purpose of covering their asses and keeping their money safe. They will never admit a bug, only “we are sorry you are having diffuclties with our platform”, they will never give any sort of compensation for time, or money lost over bugs and melfunctions in thier platform. I attempted to build a website. I thought the site was pretty good, however, there was absolutely no customer support. No phone number no nothing. I googled “wix.com phone number customer support”, but the only thing that came up was numerous other people who were unsatisfied with their lack of technical support. I was forced to email them and got a response back directing me to their FAQ section. Well, I read that and it didn’t resolve my problem. Otherwise, I most likely wouldn’t be calling. The attempt to resolve my problem was really not well received it seemed. I emailed them back asking if they had planned on getting a number because this is what I was referring to with regards to my hesitancy of going with them. I never heard back from them after a couple more emails. They took no care in the world to satisfy my concerns or to even attempt to sell themselves as a great company. Essentially, they just didn’t care. If you google their name with the words “scam” or “complaint”, you will pull up numerous other complaints. I would very strongly advise going with someone else. There are plenty of other companies to waste your time dealing with these folks, particularly when you have to email back and forth to resolve a technical difficulty? THINK ABOUT THAT! That could take days!

I bought a premium plan on this websote thinking it was worth it. It was not worth it. And seeming as it there refund policy is so short it was stupid of me to think it was. Wix are just money grabbers that dont care anout customers. I was only over the refund period for 3 days. They allow 14 days before issuing a full refund. I called on September 11, 2019 to cancel this service. Billing for the next cycle of this service was on September 10, 2019. Reviewing my account today, I saw that the $12.90 fee for this service was debited from my bank account on September 16, 2019. I called Wix this afternoon to inquire about this fee and request a refund. The first person I spoke with, Jason, when I asked him directly if I was going to receive a full refund, said yes. This call was recorded so his answer may be easily verified. I was placed on an extremely long hold before a supervisor by the name of Antonio got on the phone and told me that I could not receive a refund, even pro-rated. I told him I wanted to speak with his supervisor and he said that his supervisor does not accept phone calls. He said that for security reasons he could only give me his first name and the ticket number is [protected]. This call lasted 44 minutes and 43 seconds and ended with horrible customer service. I would like a pro-rated refund for cancelling this service after the payment renewal date. This is extremely disappointing, greedy and poor customer service and business practices.

i cancelled my wix account in 2017, the domain was removed in 2018… all good so far. …nothing until May 2019, then after a 2 year gap i noticed a monthly charge appearing on my credit card… …this charge appeared in May, June, July, August and september. Probably my worst ever customer service experience. if i hadnt cancelled or had been using these i would accept it as my mistake, but fact is i cancelled and for some reason after a near 2 year gap they have started charging me for nothing. I had created a website with wix’s free web designer to prepare my site before I payed for a plan to activate it. Once I had, I selected the Premium plan ” Unlimited “. The description of the plan stated: -Unlimited Bandwidth -10GB of storage -Connect your domain -1 Video hour -Free domain for 1 year -$300 ads vouchers -Site boost app-$60 value -forum builder app-$48 value Once I had paid for this premium plan, I was not given my free domain, the $300 ads vouchers, nor was a domain connected. I had emailed support to let them know I did not get the full package plan. A support rep by the name of Einard had replied that I had to pay for the domain and sent me a youtube video how to purchase a domain. I replied to the email stating I had tried everything to get my domain and that the domain was free with the plan and asked this person to help me get it. No response was presented back to me. 2 hrs later i had tried calling Wix, the phone rang twice and was sent to a recording. The recording stated to leave a call back number but no option was given after the recording to do so. I had tried to call back 45 minutes later and this time the phone did not ring, it went straight to the recording. At this time I am furious and emailed Einard back and told this person to cancel my account and put the money back in to the account with a full refund. 12 hrs later I get a response by email from a support member named paige. She had told me that the domain was free and I had to pay for the connection of the domain. She had also told me that if I wanted to cancel, I would have to do it online. I had told her that I will not cancel my account online due to the fact it could be foreseen as forfeit of a refund and told her to give a full refund and failure to do so will lead to legal repercussions also I informed her that the connection of the domain come with the package I purchased and sent her a screen shot of the plan I purchased along with the conformation of the purchase. I had emailed her to cancel my account and give me a full refund which by law is legal, an email is foreseen as a legal document as a legal binding contract. Today I received an email by a support rep named Chris stating I have to pay for the domain and that I could cancel by doing it on the wix website. I am going to press this issue and file a lawsuit for fraud and false advertising.

I had made a request to ask for a refund and was hopeful seeing that I was only one day over the 14 day period and the fact there was an option to send in a request after the 14 days. I called shortly after and the reply I got was that takes 20 business days (a really long time to wait when trying to get a business going) so I waited and finally had to request a call again and the customer service rep kept cutting me off every time I tried to explain the reason I’m asking for a refund saying that she needs to check with the billing department who was then closed. She did follow up with an email, however it was saying that I was outside the 14 days and they can’t make exceptions and can’t issue a refund. Each time I emailed telling my story of why I was requesting a refund I would get a different person replying with the same message. It’s so hard to correspond when you can’t talk with the same person. I may as well talk to a robot. Why have an option to request a refund outside the 14 days and make me wait 20 business days if they can’t make exceptions? Very frustrated and this whole experience is very un-personable.

I have a serious complaint to make about WIX support services. I am fed up with being abused by WIX staff. I have paid for support and instead of getting it your WIX staff send me the information I already have from the help files that I have already read otherwise I wouldn;t be contacting support, and when I escalate the matter your staff are abusive and refuse to help me. I have purchased a year subscription to wix for website, payment, and online booking for my business. I am unable to use these services due to wix error. When I call customer support I am placed on hold for hours at a time with no support or customer service rep available to help. A waste of money and time. I have purchased via online the website that Wix has hosted. It is a payment done on a month to month basis. i have the receit proving my first purchase on the 29th of september 2009. My credit card summary shows deduction of money made by wix.com starting from the 25th of september. I logged a ticket originally 21 May 2018 regarding an old account that I had created whilst employed with another organisation. As I no longer had access to the my email account to remove my credit card details and close the account off, I requested that I have the account closed and a full refund be made. After responses back and forwards from Wix support that they had found the funds in question and after proving my ID on several occaisions, I still have not had an outcome on my refund nor if the account is closed so that future autorenawals won’t be made. I have since lodged another ticket with a screen copy of my communications and am very dissatisifed with the ticket support process. I have attempted to call witin the time zone that the phone service message is on and have no success there either. I have left my contact number for someone to pick up the phone and discuss this issue, but have had no contact other that my original ticket was received and to let Wix know if I didn’t recognise the account. Hopefully someone will read this and get in contact with me to resolve the matter as it needs to be addressed. Have had no issues with using the platform, but am completely disasitified with customer service. It is now approaching mid June and I’m not satisified at all.

I made a webpage via Wix and everything was working fine. But one day when I wanted to enter my webpage there was no access! Would like to mention that this page was a part of my business so it was very important to me. I paid for a premium package which was supposed to include the domain name. 7 months later they are trying to charge me for the domain name again. I have sent them their own email that says “connect a domain you already own.” That is LITERALLY the sentence verbatim – no asterisk, no proviso – nothing. I recently discovered that long after I canceled service and shutdown my web site, WIX continued to charge me for “site boosting” services. I went to the site to find a number to call, only to find that you cannot call someone from customer service directly. You have to request a call back from customer service via the web site. After requesting a call back, I received a call from someone whose language I could barely understand. I was put on hold by that person for 18 minutes. I then was transferred to another person who kept me on hold for an additional 15 minutes. After I spoke to the customer service representative he informed me that he could only stop charging me going forward and refund the most recent charges, and that his manager told him that’s all that he can do. I asked for the manager’s name and was refused. I asked for the customer service representatives name and was refused.

They changed my account on their own & advertised on my site, even though they had no right to after several weeks I got them to stop that. I never renewed that domain or the hosting for I was very unhappy with the results. I have canceled the services & deleted the files. They keep emailing me that there is another file that to be deleted before they stop charging me! I have no domain left with that account, it is cancelled to, I have deleted my files & my documents on my account there. I have no phone number or help from them to see what they are talking about, & they keep trying to use my credit card info from last year to take money out of my account, so I call them common thieves.
