If you are considering obtaining service from XO Communications, DON’T!!! My company is in its second dispute with XO in less than five years. The first (in 2009) involved moving our service from one location to another. XO considered this to be a new contract (even though we kept our existing phone numbers) and demanded that we pay the entire balance remaining on the original contract IN ADDITION TO the premiums for our new location. After numerous hassles with XO’s collection agency, we were only able to get them to back down because a former employee of ours had gone to work for XO and was able to get a decision maker involved in eliminating the duplicate charges. Our current dispute involves the automatic renewal of our initial three year term of service. This automatic renewal was not stated in the contract documents we signed, but was stated in a single sentence on page 12 of a 25 page very fine print web site that was only referenced in our contract documents through the site’s web address. .
